B.A. English, Magna Cum Laude, Western Connecticut State University 1983


Chairman (and founder), Firearms Law Committee, Connecticut Bar Association, 1995 to 1999 (until the bar association decided that Firearms Law was a politically incorrect topic and banned the committee)


Member, Connecticut State Police Firearms Advisory Council, 2000 to 2004


Connecticut law instructor, Blue Trail Range, Wallingford (I teach the legal portion of the permit class and a separate class, Lawful Use of Force)


Admitted to practice in all state, federal, and probate courts in Connecticut


Life member and certified firearms-safety instructor, National Rifle Association of America


Holder of concealed-carry permits issued by Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Maine, and Florida


Connecticut hunting license since 1989



Music

1st Co. Governor's Foot Guard

Bandmaster (conductor and officer in charge of band), 1st Company, Governor's Foot Guard, 2019-21. The 1GFG is the oldest

  continuously active military unit in the United States—founded in 1771. We provided a formal escort for the meeting of General

  George Washington and le comte de Rochambeau in Hartford in 1780.

Simsbury Light Opera Co.

From 2013 to 2023 I was an on-stage performer with The Simsbury Light Opera Co., Connecticut's oldest Gilbert & Sullivan theater company and oldest active community theater company. Favorite G&S role: Lord Chancellor (Iolanthe), with Archibald Grosvenor (Patience) a close second.

I have also served as treasurer and president of the company.


Beginning in 2024 I have served as Musical Director, leading the musical side of rehearsals and conducting the orchestra.
